Information Note for Participants
Meeting Details

The 2025 PLMAM is hosted by the Government of Solomon Islands and will take place at three different venues. The closed FIC Caucus on Monday 3 November, will be held at the Heritage Park Hotel, and the closed PLMAM Employer Forum, also on Monday 3 November, will be held at the Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) Conference Room. The PLMAM proceedings from Tuesday 4th until Thursday 6th November, will be held at the Aquatic Centre in Honiara.

The opening ceremony marking the commencement of PLMAM 2025 will be held at 9:00 am – 9:45 am on Tuesday 4 November at the Aquatic Centre in Honiara.

Please note that the meetings on Monday 3 November are closed meetings. The Forum Island Country Caucus is limited only to Pacific Island Countries which have signed the PACER Plus Arrangement on Labour Mobility (ALM). The PLMAM 2025 Employer Forum is restricted only to RSE and PALM employers. Those who are not included in these meetings have a free day.

The last day of PLMAM 2025, Thursday 6 November, is the Pacific Labour Mobility Dialogue, which is the official meeting of all labour sending and receiving countries to discuss and decide on strategic priorities and way forward. All PLMAM 2025 participants are invited to attend noting that only the official delegations from the labour receiving and sending countries are involved in the discussions. All other participants are invited to attend as observers.

Meeting Documents

All documents relevant to PLMAM 2025 will be available on the PACER Plus website and access information will be provided by the PLMAM Secretariat. Participants are advised to bring their own printed copies, if required, as hard copies will not be available at the meeting.

Virtual Participation

A livestream option is available for those who are unable to attend in person. Participants who have registered for virtual participation will be provided with the appropriate links.

Registration

All in-person participants are required to confirm and register their attendance with the PLMAM Registration Desk before participating in the meeting. Once you complete this in-person registration, you will be given a lanyard with your name card.  PLMAM 2025 Lanyards must be worn at all times and will be your access pass for PLMAM 2025 meeting and event venues.

WIFI – Wireless Internet

Wi-Fi will be available to all delegates, free of charge, in the meeting venue. This is password-protected, but as it is a public connection, delegates are advised to exercise due caution when using the Wi-Fi network for official purposes.

Social Events

A welcome reception will be hosted by the Government of Solomon Islands on Tuesday 4 November at the Solomon Kitano Mendana Hotel at 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Further details will be provided during the meeting.

A farewell function will be hosted by the PACER Plus Implementation Unit on Thursday 6 November  from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The venue will be conveyed during the PLMAM.

As per PLMAM tradition, the farewell function will include performances from all countries and development partners. Please find time to prepare for your performances beforehand.

BEFORE ARRIVAL TO HONIARA, SOLOMON ISLANDS

Travel To and From Honiara, Solomon Islands

All PPIU funded participants have been issued with tickets and flight itineraries. If a participant chooses to change his/her itinerary, they will be responsible for meeting any additional costs arising from the change.

In the event of unfortunate circumstances that may not allow participant to travel, we would like to request that the PPIU is informed as soon as possible and not less than 48 hours before travel.

Visa Requirements

The Government of Solomon Islands has advised that all registered international participants of PLMAM 2025 will be granted a visa waiver for entry into Honiara. Accordingly, participants attending the PLMAM on 3-6 November 2025 will not be required to obtain a visa before arrival. Please visit the PACER Plus website for more information.

Airport Transfers

Transportation on arrival and departure to and from the airport will be provided for all registered PLMAM 2025 participants. Please look for 2025 PLMAM signs after airport arrivals clearance.

Hotel Accommodation

Apart from PACER Plus funded participants, all PLMAM 2025 participants are responsible for organising their own hotel accommodation.

DRESS CODE

All participants are required to wear business casual for all PLMAM events.

MEDICAL AND TRAVEL INSURANCE

The PPIU does not cover life or medical insurance for participants. Therefore, it will be the responsibility of the participants or of their governments or organisations to obtain adequate insurance prior to travel to Solomon Islands.

Advisory Notice: Visa Waiver for PLMAM 2025 International Participants

The Government of Solomon Islands has advised that all registered international participants of PLMAM 2025 will be granted a visa waiver for entry into Honiara. Accordingly, participants attending the PLMAM on 3-6 November 2025 will not be required to obtain a visa prior to arrival.

To facilitate this process, we kindly request that you provide your passport biodata page and flight details to plmam2025@pacerplus.org at your earliest convenience.

Please note that registration for PLMAM 2025 will close on 10 October 2025.
