Overview

Welcome to the Pacific Labour Mobility Annual Meeting (PLMAM) 2024. The 2024 PLMAM is hosted by the Government of Australia and will take place from 11-14 November at the Pullman Hotel King George Square in Brisbane, Australia.

The PLMAM is provided in the PACER Plus Arrangement on Labour Mobility as a mechanism to advance regional labour mobility cooperation. The theme for PLMAM 2024 is "Collectively Building Resilience", raising the importance of regional cooperation to build the resilience of labour mobility in the Pacific. Framed by this theme, the four-day PLMAM programme will provide opportunities for deliberation by key labour mobility stakeholders on tangible measures to build the resilience of Pacific labour mobility schemes.

Those interested in participating in the PLMAM 2024 may be required to obtain a Visitor (Business Visitor) (subclass 600) Visa. For further details on eligibility requirements, please visit Visitor visa (subclass 600) Business Visitor stream by clicking HERE. Applicants applying for a Visitor (Business Visitor) (subclass 600) visa may need to provide their biometrics in relation to each visa application they lodge. Further details on biometric requirements are available on the Department's website Biometrics here.

For foreign government representatives, you may apply for a Subclass 600 visa in the Business Visitor stream with a nil VAC. Nil VAC eligible applicants can apply with a United Nations (UN) Laissez-Passer, diplomatic, official or personal passport and should provide a letter of support or a Third Party Note (TPN) from their government or a letter of invitation to demonstrate that they are travelling "in the course of acting as a representative of a foreign government".

Participants are encouraged to lodge their visa applications four to six weeks in advance of their intended travel date to ensure there is sufficient time for it to be finalised.
